Do You Know What Today Is? It’s My Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year. I assumed leadership at Wesley House on August 10, 2020. I knew that the assignment before me would be a challenge, but I maintain that all of my experience and trials both personally and professionally led me to this point. My immediate course of action was to implement a plan to safely re-engage our three core programs during the pandemic. I adopted and publicized my commitment, in lockstep with my board of directors and team, to Reflect, Revive, and Recover.

We want to thank all of our strategic partners that make our mission possible. During the past year, 620 youth and adults have been impacted by services provided at Wesley House.

I will share just a few of the ways your contributions have transformed into impact.

  • We were the first community learning hub to open our doors for school-age children at no cost to parents this past fall. We were spotlighted by Louisville Metro for this work. Wesley House piloted the the process for administering rapid COVID testing to youth.

  • WesKids Child Development Center curriculum and infrastructure has been revitalized. In partnership with Greater Louisville Head Start, hundreds of children will receive an early development experience that will prepare them and propel them for success.

  • GROW (Getting Ready for Opportunities and Work) was launched! This economic development initiative takes on a coaching model and goal setting as tools for creating longterm financial security. GROW was the host-site to launch drop off tax preparation services in partnership with Louisville Asset Building Coalition serving more than 300 taxpayers.

In another effort to recover and expand our ability to serve, The Wear, gently used clothing store closed last fall. As a result, 135 families received free clothing and accessories at our parking lot giveaway.

Together, we have done more than I could’ve ever imagined. Suddenly the impossible is fathomable because we realize how much we can do.

Today, I am thrilled to announce WesGrand Society! WesGrand will be a cohort of influencers that believe in the work and mission of Wesley House. This distinguished society will include individuals that make an annual gift commitment. I believe in leading from the front and supporting the mission that I am advancing. Therefore, I am proud to be the first member. Please help me reach my goal of 25 members this year. For more information, visit the link below.

Thank you for trusting my leadership and allowing me the opportunity to serve. Cheers to year two! #LetsElevate

Yours In Service,

Patricia
